Using Live CD/USB to backup and restore the ESXi host disk/partition:

#redobackup-livecd-1.0.4.iso

clonezilla

 

Note:

#Redo,   partition level backup & restore,  support samba & ftp

CloneZilla,   file level backup& restore (but VMFS5 ), support nfs.
