HP iLO firmware are\u00a0scexe (self extracting files). \u00a0To get the iLO firmware, search system model on support section of hp.com.<\/p>\n

ONE : From OS (Linux) CLI use scexe file<\/h3>\n

– Download iLO firmware say\u00a0CP023069.scexe
\n– Unpack it
\n$ cd \/tmp
\n$ chnmod 755 CP023069.scexe
\n$ .\/CP023069.scexe
\n– follow online instruction
\n– Check iLO new version
\n$\u00a0curl http:\/\/\/xmldata?item=All<\/p>\n

TWO : From iLO CLI load bin file<\/h3>\n

On some webserver ( that should be on same same vlan as iLO valn and network), copy firmware bin file in DocumentRoot.<\/p>\n

$ .\/CP023069.scexe –unpack=firmware
\n$ cd firmware
\n$ cp firmware\/ilo2_NNN.bin $DocumentRoot (usually \/var\/www\/html\/)<\/p>\n

– Login on iLO over ssh and upload firmware
\n$ssh -l Administrator
\n– To see current iLO version
\niLO> show<\/p>\n

– to check if your web servers is pingable from iLO (to get iLO bin file)
\niLO>\u00a0cd \/map1
\niLO>\u00a0oemhp_ping
\niLO>\u00a0load -source http:\/\/\/firmware\/ilo2_NNN.bin<\/p>\n

– Your session will seems to hang for 2-3 minute – do not worry ! If all is good. iLo firmware will be upgraded and iLO will be rebooted. Check iLo version
\n$\u00a0curl http:\/\/\/xmldata?item=All<\/p>\n

THREE : Using iLO WebUI to upload bin file<\/h3>\n

– Download and save ilo firmware bin files extracted above by keying in below in you web browser
\nhttp:\/\/\/firmware\/ilo2_NNN.bin
\n-access iLO Web UI, go to Administration tab and upload bin file to upgrade iLO firmware
\nhttp:\/\/<\/p>\n

FOUR : HPSIM to push firmware<\/h3>\n

– Use HPSIM if you \u00a0paying SIM license fee !<\/p>\n
